Valerie has spoken at numerous events about her research, and loves engaging the general public in research that otherwise may have been stuck behind academic jargon and journal paywalls (see also Press & media for articles, podcasts, and radio interviews).
If you would like to book Valerie to give a talk at your event – please do not hesitate to get in touch. See some in-person examples below (virtual events, such as for the Local Government Association UK, are listed in her CV).

The Science of Decision-Making: Balancing Rationality and Intuition in a World of Choices
Valerie presented on how one might use intuition in work environments at an Owen James event for financial paraplanners; exposing the neuroscience behind how intuition works (and doesn’t work), and applying it to real-world situations.
‘A Meeting of Minds Paraplanning’ by Owen James group, London, UK (25 May 2023).

Cognitive Science of Creativity and Imagination
In 2019, whilst pretty pregnant, Valerie presented on the cognitive science of imagination and creativity during the Pint of Science festival in Coventry, United Kingdom. Together with the audience, she explored how imagination works in the brain, and how creativity is not property of the arts.
Pint of Science festival (20-22 May 2019), theme: Beautiful Mind. Coventry, UK.
